The renowned guide Boa Cama Boa Mesa (weekly and portuguese Expresso newspaper) made a script of fado houses with suggestive courses with cod.

Café Luso and Timpanas (Fado & Food Group) were selected.

Big news, the Clube de Fado in Alfama has gained another breath.

The Fado & Food Group comprises historic establishments dedicated to the universe of Lisbon’s urban song.

The Clube de Fado thus joins now the other Fado Houses of the Group: Bairro Alto, Café Luso (1927) and Adega Machado (1937); in the Alcântara District, Timpanas (1961).

The cultural roots of this oral tradition, Fado, have always been associated with national gastronomy. The Fado & Food Group’s mission is to preserve and innovate on the historical legacy of fado houses.

The Fado & Food Group is therefore guardian of the future of the Clube de Fado.

The 12th edition of the Flamenco Festival in Lisbon is held. No wonder, so many are caught up in flamenco, music and dance.

Each edition intensifies the desire for the art of flamenco.

In terms of sounds, not new, it meets Fado.

As for the poster (see here), a must to watch and see (stand out Dorantes!).

They are said to be the biggest festival of fado that will get several of the artists to the reference fado houses in the city of Lisbon.

The 2019 edition takes place on September 27 and 28, includes more than 40 concerts and draws artists from all the historic neighborhoods where fado is sung.

The Bairro Alto and Alcântara are well represented, and the fado houses established there make a strong contribution to the poster: Marco Rodrigues, Pedro Moutinho, and also artists who regularly perform here at Adega Machado, Cláudia Picado, Ana Sofia Varela. Ana Marta, from the cast Timpanas.

There will be another Chainho and Kyao concert. It joins two great instrumentalists with affinities that allow better to understand how the Portuguese musical tradition drank in the sources originating from the ancestral melodic creation.

Two masters, a lot to listen to and learn in a concert that takes place on July 16th at the Teatro da Trindade (Inatel), which is also joined by the renowned Galician artist Uxía, a great promoter of Galician music and poetry.
